Getting a University of Houston - Clear Lake Library Barcode

STUDENTS:

Your Library Barcode is on the back of your UHCL ID card. Example: 2000987456.  If you do not yet have an ID card, or if you have an old student card which does not have the library barcode printed on the back, look at the student ID number listed on your fee statement. Your library barcode is made by preceding your student ID number with 200 to make a total of ten digits, as in the example above.

FACULTY AND STAFF:

If you were employed at UHCL before the Spring 2002 semester, your library barcode is your social security number preceded by a 2 until you give your new employee ID number to the library.  If you have given your number to the library, your library barcode is 200 and the seven digits of your new ID number. However, the library will soon be automatically updating your library record with the new ID, at which time your social security number will no longer work.  These instructions will be changed at that time.

Students, faculty and staff who do not have the latest ID card are strongly encouraged to get a  new one made at the Student Life Office (B1602, 281-283-2560).

If you have questions, please contact Karen Berrish, Electronic Resources Librarian, at (281) 283-3919 or berrish@cl.uh.edu.
