UH QUEST Program

The Award-winning Teacher Certification Program at UH is now in Sugar Land

In Fall 2007, the University of Houston increased prospects for students by offering the Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies QUEST teacher certification program to EC-4 majors at the Sugar Land campus. Same world-class faculty. Same innovative curriculum. Same comprehensive support for new teacher preparation. Just closer to home!

QUEST is Quality Urban Education for Students and Teachers. Students in the QUEST Program learn to teach with the latest research-based strategies and modern technologies from a world-class faculty. Our future teachers participate in early and continued field experiences, learning to do the work of real teachers in real schools. We are proud to develop professional educators accountable for their own actions. We value the diversity of our students just as we encourage them to value the diversity of their own students. Upon graduation, our new teachers are highly sought after by districts throughout Texas.

Key Features of the Sugar Land Program

The program at Sugar Land is truly an extension of the Main campus QUEST program, with all of the quality, instructors, resources, and expectations, made more convenient to students who reside in the Sugar Land /Ft. Bend area. Program highlights include:

Admissions

Students apply for QUEST at multiple points in the program, which allows advisors to monitor progress on benchmarks throughout the program. Students meet with their advisors every semester to be sure they are meeting all benchmarks.

Interested students should contact the QUEST program coordinator.
