Student Ambassador Events
MEMBERSHIP DRIVE
We are currently recruiting students to become UHSSL Ambassadors. Members are required to attend meetings once a month and to participate in two major events a semester (Back to School Bash, Fort Bend County Parade, Grad Fest, Open House, or Preparation for Fuel for Finals).
Are you interested in taking on a leadership position? Chair and Co-chair positions are also available. For more information contact Esther Arrendell, Student Services Coordinator at jearrendell@uh.edu.
FALL 2006 GRAD FEST
November 9, 2006 from 4-7 p.m.
Grad Fest provided UHSSL students the opportunity to buy graduation items without traveling to their home university. Typical items that are sold or available for order include: invitations, diploma frames, class rings, and cap and gowns.
Representatives from UH-Victoria, UH-Downtown, and UH-Central were present. In addition, all students partook of the free smoothies and coffee service that were provided during this event by Texas Java Company.
BACK TO SCHOOL BASH FALL 2006
September 21, 2006 from 4-7 p.m.
Many students celebrated the start of the school year by attending the annual Back to School Bash on Thursday, September 21, 2006! Students received free Marble Slab ice cream, pizza, and fountain drinks. Entertainment was provided by Scott Christensen, a solo acoustic guitar player.
Faculty, students and staff also lined up to receive a free UH System at Sugar Land t-shirt, which were given out during the event. Additionally, eleven people donated to the Methodist Hospital blood drive and while only two brave souls received flu shots, we were thankful that the Houston Flu Clinic was in attendance.
UH System at Sugar Land would like to thank all those system and university employees that helped staff this event, as well as UH Downtown Student Activities and Events for purchasing the pizza.
