The UH System - Creating the Workforce for the 21st
Federal Programs in Support of Hispanic Education - To ensure that UH-Downtown continues to provide strong support to the Hispanic community, this institution supports increased appropriations for Hispanic higher education within the budgets of key federal agencies, including NSF, the Department of Education, and HUD.
UH System Community for the Advancement of Teacher-Scholars - Provide new teachers the support they need to persist and excel during their early years in the classroom by mastering skills in administration, classroom management, negotiation of school environment, quality instruction, and improvement of student performance.
Connected Communities: Using the City as a Learning Laboratory for Future Teachers - Provide community-based real-life experience for the teachers of tomorrow.
Aerospace Academy for Engineering and Teacher Education - Produce a highly educated workforce for aerospace and other high technology employers, create highly qualified science and math teachers to produce that workforce, and move students through education faster through K-18 partnerships.
English Language Learning Center - Maximize educational outcomes for English language learners while mentoring minority students and preparing them for higher education and the workforce.
C3 Coaching for Improving the Learning of Young Children - Prepare teams of educators with differing roles and levels of expertise (collegial), provide research on learning and effective instructional strategies (cognitive), and implement and test research-based programs in a variety of contexts and experience levels (collaborative).
Real-Time Access to Online Instruction & Service - Incorporate web-based real-time collaboration into online instruction and student services.
Center for Bilingual Education and Training - Prepare educators of English language learners to ensure that students achieve high academic success through a network of support that includes parents and the community at large.
Professional Development Laboratory School Partnership - Provide exemplary professional development based upon sound educational research and practice throughout the school community to result in improved student achievement.
Success through Education Program - Guide students through a seamless track from high school to community college to UH-Clear Lake, culminating in a college degree, teacher certification, and employment in local school districts.
Technological Literacy for All - Strengthen the presence of technology studies in K-12 education by integrating technology into the curriculum through a more thorough and sophisticated presentation of technology concepts and themes.
Center for Mexican American Studies - Construct a state-of-the-art building to house the UH Mexican American Studies Research and Cultural Center.
