CATS kicks-off advocacy efforts with special reception October 18 featuring Tier One presentation by UH President Arthur K. Smith

October 3, 2000 - CATS (Cougar Advocates for Texas) will kick-off its advocacy efforts on behalf of the University of Houston with a special informational reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2000, in the Shamrock Room of the University Hilton. UH President Arthur K. Smith will be the featured speaker.

Find out how, as a CATS member, you can become involved during the upcoming 77th Legislative Session in helping UH secure the necessary state funding to help us become a Tier One institution. Membership in CATS is free of charge.

Future activities include the CATS- and Houston Alumni Organization-sponsored bus trip to Austin next February 20, 2001, as part of "UH Day in Austin," when students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of the University of Houston "walk the halls" of the State Capitol in support of UH and higher education.
