Strategic Action Group

The University of Houston is taking bold steps to improve its status as a national research university and a Top Tier university in Texas. In addition, it is working with each of the other universities in the University of Houston System to ensure a high level of access leading to the success of its students.

In May 2008, the University of Houston System Board of Regents adopted six goals to advance UH. The goals addressed:

1. National Competitiveness
   
2. Student Success
   
3. Community Advancement
   
4. Athletic Competitiveness
   
5. National and Local Recognition
   
6. Resource Competitiveness
   

To ensure these goals are attained with the full support of the UH community, President Renu Khator appointed the Strategic Action Group to guide the development of informed actions directed toward these goals. The Strategic Action Group will facilitate broad-based dialog across UH to align key actions, responsibilities and performance measures. The committee will operate from November 2008 through June 2009.

Faculty, staff, and students are invited to review proposed "Aims" and "Actions" to address these goals. These were developed by six committees from November 2008 through March 2009. Please consider attending one of the Town Hall meetings or offer input via e-mail.
