University of Houston The University of Houston is Texas’ premier urban teaching and research institution and the largest component of the University of Houston System. It offers a full range of bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees, as well as three professional degrees, through its thirteen colleges: architecture, business administration, education, engineering, honors, hotel and restaurant management, law, liberal arts and social sciences, natural sciences and mathematics, optometry, pharmacy, social work, and technology. UH is also home to over forty research centers and institutes and conducts more than $72 million in research programs every year.
